Young People
Being a teenager can be overwhelming at times. Who am I? Where am going in life?
What is expected from me? Where do I fit in? Just some of the questions you may ask yourself again and again.
Please be assured that you are not alone. Life can be daunting and when you throw things like hormones, friendships and relationships, stress from school and the increasing pressures of social media, into the mix, it can all start to feel a bit too much.
The pressures of life and some of the difficulties you may experience can manifest themselves in a variety of ways and these are some of the things you may be experiencing
-
Low mood, feeling sad
-
Anxiety
-
Panic attacks
-
Anger
-
Feelings of despair, not being good enough
-
Questions about your sexuality
-
Self harm
-
Suicidal thoughts
Talking through your feelings and exploring ways for you to gain a better understanding of them can help you feel more in control of them which will in turn, help you to cope better with those difficult situations that life may bring.
We will work together in a safe confidential space where you will be listened to and heard, without judgement as you begin to navigate your way through life's complexities.
For Parents
Do you feel that your child could do with a little extra support? Have you noticed a change in their behaviour which you have become increasingly concerned about?
Are they spending more time alone in their room?
Are you finding it a struggle to talk to them without it ending in an argument?
I have a wealth of experience working with young people in both my private practice and within secondary schools and have worked with a variety of different issues. Please give me a call for an informal chat and we can explore ways that I may be able to help.
